I am Cherokee.
I am Scottish.
I am French.
I am German.
I am English.
I am American.

I wrote this poem one
night when I was extremely discouraged in my research of my lineage.
Please understand that I am not a poet, nor do I claim to be. This
is just how I felt that night and I wanted to share it with
you. There are many who feel the same way that I felt that
night and sometimes I still do. I placed this here for those
searching for the truth of our heritage.
We may never know the paths that our
ancestors took to survive. All we know is that we are here, in this
time. We were not hatched from eggs and did not crawl from the sea.
We were created with a great plan by an even greator God. He has a
plan for us, even though we don't understand His reasoning behind
our search. There IS a reason behind our search. There is a
reason that we have hiding ancestors. Life would be easy if we knew
the answers that we seek. But, it wouldn't be half as fun and we
wouldn't appreciate when our brick walls fall to the ground,
shattering with knowledge.
You are who you are. I am who I am. Praise be to the Great
Creator for making us this way. May the Great Spirit continue
to guide your walk and search. May He continue to bless you and
yours. Sgi Laquaa
